What is the most precious thing in our life, is it wealth, is it secure job or is it love? This question is very much subjective, but the most of people would agree as health as their top most priority. Most of people get attracted to activities which save on their energy and efforts. The natural trait of human mind is to save on energy and efforts while performing a task. Industrial revolution brought in major changes in the industry. It became more machine dependent rather than labor based. Earlier it was mostly the skilled labors which performed production. This transition started in the 18th century in Great Britain. Its previous economy was based more on the manual labor and animal. This revolution switched it to the machine based economy. This changed the world economy scene prominently. Per capita income increased by 10 times. In words of a renowned and Nobel prize winner Robert E. Lucas, Jr., "For the first time in history, the living standards of the masses of ordinary people have begun to undergo sustained growth. ... Nothing remotely like this economic behavior has happened before." (Source “Wikipedia”)
Since then the machines dominate world economy. werkzeugs and machines became very important part of any industry. This is mainly because of its consistent and uniform production output, which requires less human efforts and saves on human energy as well. Deploying machines or werkzeugs can be less expensive than having skilled professional on board. The history of werkzeugs dates back to ancient history of mankind. The Stone Age man did use some of very sharp werkzeugs for hunting purpose. These weapons were made of carved stones and wood. Such instruments were also used throughout evolution process of man. Even today we use instruments to lessen the efforts. These household instruments are screw- driver, scissors, watch, and knife etc. which we use on routinely basis. These instruments have gained lot of importance in our life. Take a very simple example of a comb. It neatly detangles hair than our fingers. They are equally important in any industry. In comparison to human labors used for production these machines are more dependable and require less expensive maintenance. Machines are rapidly replacing skilled professionals in industries these days.
